Vocab  Sherpa- is a member of the Himalayan  group living on the borders of Nepal and Tibet, renowned for their skills in mountaineering. There would be no book without the help and aid that is provide from the Sherpa people on there journeys up Everest. The Sherpa people are highly skilled at calming up Everest due to them doing it for generations. And because of the Sherpa people taking us up to through the mountain in return to our help and money is the only reason why Americans made it to the top.     Acclimatization-  is a process in which and individual conditions themselves to the environment around them.  The book brings up the word acclimatization a far bit through the story of there climb. Chapter 8 Summary

Camp One Chapter 8 begins with there second acclimatization climb from base camp, up to camp one. While Jon and his group are at camp one Hall (the leader of there expedition) makes a call to stay at camp one for two more nights before, adventuring up to camp two where he say he wants to stay three nights. After the two nights at camp one they finally set off for camp two and where Jon gets a little taste Everest's power. When Jon's team reaches 21,000 feet they comes along a dead Sherpa that's been there for years. Shortly after that they reach camp two which is homed with only one hundred plus tents, they get to work on throwing up more tents for all the people to come. However the next two days Jon  had little to do with helping the camp due to the altitude. He had felt sick and had painful headaches, witched  caused him to stray from the group and stay in his tent. Then later on Hall makes contact with the...

Into Thin Air, Chapter one

In the middle In chapter one it gives the reader a brief look into the future when we learn Jon and how he had beat Everest. Then it goes into how he had struggled his whole life and how he got to the point he is currently at and how he beat his childhood dream. Jon goes off to describe how hard it was on his body, he tells us stuff like how cold he was, how he hasn't slept in three days and how his meal first and last meal was at base camp 3days ago and all he had was a bowl of Ramanan noodles. Shortly after talking about his struggles he goes on a tangent/reflection. While he's at the top of the world he dreams out loud about all the questions he thinks people are going to ask. However when he comes background he sifts his thought to getting down Everest and he sees he's in over his head. He sees that there's a storm coming and the lack of oxygen he has left in his tank. But shortly after he finds his way down the Hillary step he's home free.
